The short answer
We repaint interiors in Plantation homes and condos, including walls, ceilings, trim, doors and closets. Each job starts with surface repair and stain blocking, uses low-odor paints in the right sheen for each room, and follows a room-by-room schedule that keeps the house livable.
Interior painting is one of the most practical ways to update a Plantation home. A different wall color can make an older floor plan feel current, a bright ceiling can lift a dim room, and fresh trim makes everything around it look cleaner. Homes in this city range from mid-century ranches with plaster or textured walls to newer townhomes with smooth drywall and open layouts, and each needs slightly different handling. CraftEdge Painters works about eight miles south of our Coral Springs base, painting interiors throughout 33317, 33322, 33324 and 33388. Rather than repeat a generic list of services, this page focuses on the questions Plantation homeowners actually ask us before an interior project.
"My walls have texture and old patches. Will they look right?"
Many Plantation houses have knockdown, orange peel or hand-troweled textures, and years of picture hanging, furniture bumps and previous patch jobs leave marks that show through new paint. We fill and sand holes and dents, then re-texture repairs so they blend with the surrounding wall instead of standing out as smooth spots.
Where previous owners used glossy paint on walls, we scuff-sand or prime so the new finish bonds. Flaking paint, often near bathrooms or exterior doors, is scraped back to a sound edge and feathered before priming.
"There are water stains on the ceiling."
Ceiling stains from an old roof leak, a sweating AC line or an upstairs bathroom are very common in South Florida. Regular paint will not hide them; the stain bleeds back through within days. Once the source is fixed, we seal stains with a dedicated stain-blocking primer, then repaint the full ceiling plane so there is no visible patch.
If a stain is still damp or growing, we will tell you before painting. Covering an active leak only hides the problem.
"Which sheen should I use where?"
The right sheen depends on how a room is used and how much light it gets. Here is the general guide we start from, adjusted to your preferences.
- Ceilings: flat, to hide surface flaws and reduce glare.
- Living rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms: matte or eggshell for a soft look that still wipes clean.
- Hallways, kids' rooms and playrooms: scrubbable matte or eggshell that tolerates frequent cleaning.
- Kitchens and bathrooms: satin or a mildew-resistant bath finish that handles moisture.
- Trim, baseboards and doors: semi-gloss or satin enamel for durability and easy wiping.
"How disruptive will this be?"
We work room by room in an order we agree on in advance. Furniture is moved to the center and covered, floors are protected, and outlet covers and hardware are removed and set aside. At the end of each day, tools are packed and paths are clear so you can use the house in the evening.
Low-odor, low-VOC paints let most families stay home during the job. If you have pets, we will plan around their spaces and keep doors closed when needed. Condo owners can count on us to follow building rules for elevators, parking and work hours.
"Does the humidity affect interior paint?"
It does. From May through October, indoor humidity can climb, especially in bathrooms, laundry rooms and closets on outside walls. Paint dries more slowly, and mildew can form on surfaces that stay damp. We keep the air conditioning running during the job, allow proper dry time between coats and suggest mildew-resistant products where moisture is a concern.
Running bathroom fans after showers and keeping closet doors cracked open helps finishes stay clean long after we leave.
"Can you help me choose colors?"
We can bring sample colors and paint large swatches on your walls so you can see them in your own light. Rooms facing west get warm, bright afternoons; north-facing rooms and those under shade trees look cooler. Seeing a color in place for a day or two avoids surprises. We also paint homes nearby in Sunrise, Lauderhill, Lauderdale Lakes, Tamarac and North Lauderdale.
